I'm being induced next Friday, I'll be 38 weeks. I'm having a sweep this Friday and another Tuesday (massive fingers crossed they work!)

Induction due to health of baby and I. GD, Anemia, previous heamorage due to anemia... Had my 4th dose of venofer today in an attempt to get iron up but it's not happening and baby is massive according to growth scans (yay Hmm)

First baby induced 36ish (I actually can't remember, oops!) wasn't awful. Process Thursday pm, labour suite Friday pm born Saturday AM

2nd spontaneous labour 1hr 40 start to finish. 39 weeks.

Anyone any experience? Tia!

Yes. Although for pre-eclampsia & liver issues rather than anaemia.

DS1 - Induced at 37 weeks, difficult, slow labour. DS1 born 24 hours later, just as Consultant starts getting ready for intervention.

DS2 - Induced at term. Reasonably OK labour, DS2 born 8 hours later without intervention.

DD - Induced at 38 weeks. Spent most of my labour in a rocking chair with only gas & air (and not much of that). Midwife told me to ring the bell when the pain escalated & I wanted pethidine. Rang the bell after about 2 hours of contractions. Midwife came back, checked to see how things were going and said "sorry, I can't give you pethidine now. Baby's head is about to be born!". 10 minutes later (literally) I was holding DD. Not so much as a stitch.

So, IME, a third time induction doesn't make for a difficult delivery.

Good luck Flowers.

Oh thank you that's positive to read!

First ended in forceps, really don't want that again.

I was induced on sat with my ds3 at 39+2 due to reduced movement. I'd had sweeps done on the Mon wed and fri (closed on Mon started to lose show from tues onwards by fri was 1-2cm ).
1st gel on sat 11 am did absolutely nothing not a single twinge. Had 2nd gel at 5pm started to get twinges, contractions started off quite close together every 4/5 min but wasn't lasting that long. I was examined at 11.30pm to be told I was still 1-2cm very disheartened by this as was contracting every 3 min or so. By 1am I told the midwife I was struggling to get any rest between the contractions the pains were in my legs to was easier for me to stand rather than lie on the bed. She decided to examine Me again I was also shaking all over by this point, I was 3cm waters were bulging. I was moved to delivery suite at 1.30 she broke my waters at 1.55 I was 7cm then by 2.05 I was fully dilated 7 minutes later and 3 big pushes my baby was born at 2.12 am no stitches needed. Hope your delivery is as quick good luck
