Anyone else overdue and very impatient!

Hi! I'm 40 + 3 today and starting to feel like this is never going to happen. I have had no mucous plug or show that I know of, very few braxton hicks so feel like i have no idea when it's going to start! Baby is 2/5ths engaged so really low now and i am getting a lot of the sharp stabbing cervix pains in the evenings every night now but that's about it!
Anyone else getting annoyed and want to share?!
I also can't drive as of yesterday as I can't shut my legs enough to reach the pedals properly! So house bound now and wondering if today could go any slower!
Sorry for all the moaning!! Please feel free to add your own moans and keep me company! :)

No moans to keep you company as I went through all that nearly 6 months ago.
Get yourself out for walks/waddles and rest up. Sleep if you can, really do try to. If you're that frustrated then its probably not long now. When I went into labour (1/2 hour after going to bed of course) I regretted not having had an afternoon nap.

Thanks for your message! Surprised there's not loads of overdue women trawling this site whilst they wait! I lay Iin bed until lunchtime today to catch up on some sleep so at least if baby comes tonight I'm rested! Have just cleaned the bathroom and kitchen floor, not nesting just literally for something to do!
I never knew the extent of my impatience until now!!

I'm overdue too and feeling fed up! I'm 40+9 today and although I've had twinges for weeks everything seems to have stopped and I've had nothing for a few days! This is dc3 so running about after the older two is driving me mad this week! It's half term too so oldest isn't at school either!

I'm booked to go in Sunday and get started off if I don't go before so at least the end is in sight lol!

Hope something happens for you soon! Confused

Hi dm, hope yours kicks off before Sunday then :) at least you know this time next week you will have a baby!
I think as I've had no real signs I'm finding myself getting more and more convinced that it's never going to happen!! Which is crazy! I'm not being given a sweep until next weds with induction booked for next Friday if nothing happens. Seem so far away though! Keep me updated if you get any progress!

40 + 5 here too and poor DH has started leave already so a baby would be nice!

My DD was born 40 + 6 so I thought he'd be here by now. But nothing!!

Midwife and sweep in the morning - you are not alone ladies Smile

Can I join? 40+1 today. Really thought Id do early, consultant was surprised I made it to 39! Then after a 'favourable' sweep on Wed, Im now thinking Baba has no intention in coming out to meet us! Would be perfect timing for us ladies to go today seeing as it's practically the weekend!!

Hope your sweep goes well angel tattoo! Let us know how it goes.

yes I'm really hoping for today as my husband is off until Monday now. Which is probably the reason why baby will wait now until he goes back to work!
I tried a really spicy thai takeaway last night. Gave me a dodgy stomach within a few hours which I hoped might be the start but nothing! So just gave myself a dodgy stomach for nothing! Won't be trying that again! Back to walking and bouncing it is. What are you ladies trying out of interest? X

Bouncing, walking, dtd!, chocolate and an odd glass of wine to get the 'feel good' hormones working!

Will be interested in all other suggestions also!

Oh your poor loves, I'm only 38 weeks and already impatient. Had my heart set on this week with it being half term. Twiddled my nipples so much that I can't even look at them now, my tongue stings from pineapple, my guts from curry, I've walked around so much my trainers have started to squeak and yesterday my 5 year old questioned me why I was walking like a crab up and down the stairs so much! I stink of clary sage and am seriously considering trying the evening primrose oil thing. Good luck everybody Flowers

Haha. I can't bring myself to try dtd. I have no idea how it would work in any position with me this size! And dh thinks it's a bit weird as baby is so low lol.
I tried pineapple a few days ago and gave myself a mouth ulcer! Running out of ideas now!

Okay I think I might cry!

My daughter was born at 40 + 6, which I am today, and her sweep at 40 + 2 I was 2 cm dilated.

Today cervix was high and no dilation whatsoever! She did a stretch and sweep and I am booked for induction on 26th!

Off for a walk (and a cry) to try and get him down a bit more.

kitkatkaty87 · 20/02/2015 15:46

Oh what a poo. My friend wasn't dilated at all when she first went in in labour though and had baby within 48 hours. So don't give up hope. Although I know that's easier said than done.
I've been for a walk just before and need toget back on the ball again now :s why do these babies not want to come out now?!

In same boat. So frustrated. 41+3 so time fast running out. Trying to be positive and told myself I would be this whole weekend. But struggling now. Have had two sweeps in two days and think had a bloody show this morning. Mw said I was much better at today's sweep and she hopes I will go into labour this weekend but wouldn't committ to the likiehood of that happening. Said was 3cm and could stretch it to 3-4cm . Felt so positive today. But now not feeling that way at all. Only. Few Brixton hicks and cramping when walking but gone now. Feel like gone backwards. Ahhhhhhh

kitkatkaty87 · 21/02/2015 03:54

3cm is really good though cleo. Hopefully it will mean that your labour isn't as long and you won't have a first stage that drags on. I don't know if I've been having braxton hicks or not. Probably not. Was very uncomfortable this afternoon and evening with intermittent pelvic and back pain, but by 9 pm it wore off completely and now nothing again! Don't know if that was the start of things being on and off now or just pains from being so pregnant. My legs and feet are also so swollen now that it's so tight to move :( moan moan moan. Sorry! Where are these babies!!!!????

It's pretty good I know. Mw was saying how much it was than previous week and brilliant during sweep. Kind of makes it more frustrating though as everything is as it should be and still no baby. She said baby lower but written 3/5 in my book. Was previously 2/5 palpable which means 3/5 down so not sure what that means.

Having less pains/contractions than before sweeps.

You are not 'overdue'.

Normal gestation is 37-42 weeks.

40 weeks is a mid point not an actual 'due date'.

Your baby will appear when he/she is good and ready.

Getting anxious could actually stop you going into labour.

Relax, go on walks, eat curries etc and rest assured that you will have a baby in the next 2 weeks.

I know jackie that's what I keep telling myself. But do feel against deadline now for Tuesday when will be induced. Have to go in to hospital tomorrow to be monitored.

Trying to stay positive and relax too as know a lot of it is in the mind. Off for walk later and nice pub lunch.

Half tempted just to be induced on sun so just have my baby and can leave all this behind me . But induced with ds and don't want my labour being like that again.

It's very hard to completely relax and not think about it when you are so excited and not sure when you are going to go into labour though. I'm ready now! Whether some people don't class it as overdue or not! I've just bee for a 30 minute my pelvis feels like I've taken a beating now!!

We'll done kit Kat. I managed a 45 min brisk walk today and some time in the birthing ball plus just done 1 and half cleaning. Not feeling much though, must admit felt much more days before last few sweeps.

Well hospital scan tomorrow as overdue. 12 days which is their policy. Also feeling excited but more nervous about induction really. Think mind will be put at ease if they tell me I don't need the drip, if they do tell me that. Already 3cm so not too far to go.

That's very good cleo! You are putting me to shame. Just had another walk now though! I am booked for induction on Friday and will be given a pessary and allowed home for the first 24 hours so maybe you will get similar. Seems like a more gentle way to start things off. This time next week you will have your baby! And mine will hopefully be on the way! X

Can I join?

I'm 40+1 today. Struggling with SPD, reflux, and generally being whale sized and uncomfortable.

I had a sweep at 39+3 at my request.

So far plenty of braxton hicks but nothing else.

First child was on time. I wasn't planning to go overdue with this one!

41 weeks today. Not entirely sure what I should be doing. I've had a midwife appointment where they told me that the baby is positioned back to back but not to worry, or do anything to try to turn it, as most babies will turn in labour. Then had a scan at the hospital where they confirmed the position of baby but said that was the reason labour hadn't started! Apparently the head is fully engaged facing the wrong way so isn't pressing down strongly enough or in the right way to start labour. I feel like I'm just going to be pregnant forever!
