Desperate need of advice, I'm 40 weeks today but I've had only my basic braxton hicks all day but this evening after dinner my stomach started to feel a little quezy and considering i was really hungry i was confused, I am now having constant back ache, above my hips. I'm having movements from bubba and also slight twinges in my lower abdomen but not strong enough for me to be in absolute pain. I know the contractions when they get going but i'm very good at baring the pain and am slightly worried as i'm on my own with the kids while my partner is working. I've heard that back pain can be the start but can also last a long time, I just don't know what to do, i dont want to call my mum and my partner home incase its a false alarm and we rush to hospital for norhing as i'm usually induced.

I think there's no need to set things in motion until your labour is established. And when it is you will just know!

Eek good luck

I'm sat doing the same! Really strong tightenings and mid back aches.

I called DH and got the receptionist to pass on a 'your wife is having contractions' message.

He was home within 10 mins Grin

Sorry, forgot to say, I'd not do anything until they get mega painful and regular.

I started with sharp pains inside down below which quickly progressed to strong period like pains.

I once read if you have to ask if you are in labour you're probably not... which I thought was a stupid thing to stay to a ftm.... but you do (IMO).
