Hey wonder if anyone could perhaps share an experience they might have had with me. I have a elective c section booked for several reasons but the doctors have scared me to death with all the things that could go wrong, trying to talk me round to a normal delivery.. anyone got any experience of a similar situation and had problems or had a straightforward section. Thank you in advance guys Confused xx

Hello, I had an emergency c section 10months ago which was pretty much predicted by the Drs and midwives etc because i had a high bmi! My experience was maybe different as was emergency but overall it went well, I was quite sick during the aftermath but other than that it was fine! Went well, straight forward etc.
it was a scary process because it was so sudden for me so I panicked about ds and whether he was ok etc and just wanted him out. I didn't feel anything and everyone was friendly.
I was induced and they encouraged me to have a epidural straight away once my waters had been broken so that was already in, they then just increased the dose in theatre.
My whole pregnancy was filled with Drs telling me a c section was highly likely as my bmi was high, which included lots of chats about what could go wrong etc but they also gave me statistics which made me feel a bit better.
I was told in their experience higher bmi ladies often end up as c section so even if you opt for natural birth it could end the same way I guess.
Don't know if this helps or is just waffle lol!
