Hospital notes

I've just been reading a letter from the hospital where I gave birth to my GP. It says that my baby was in the "LOT position". What does this mean?

Left Occipital......T ummmmm.

I think it means he/she was head down with its back to the left.
Not sure about the T though. I know A is anterior and P is posterior or back to back. Have no idea what T could stand for.

Check your NHS Pregancy and Birth Book - the one with the woman in the nice comfy looking purple maternity dress - that you can't find anywhere!

I saw a load of position diagram and terms when I was looking through it the other night!

Hauntymandy - that link has really put me off having any more kids. I don't think of them coming out sideways....

Thanks, though - I had LOT on my notes too once and never understood it (closely followed by emergency cs...)

Pmsl at gave birth to your gp, probably my hormones but really gave me the giggles! Talking of the pregnancy and birth book is it just mine (over 6 years old now) or are there several paragraphs throughout that just stop mid sentence?
