This is it, isn't it?

Eek.

Had a small 'leak' at about 9pm tonight. This has since been followed by a slow but steady trickle of pinkish fluid.

Started to have mild period pain almost immediately after this which has spread to my back now. It's not mind numbingly painful yet but it's constant and it sure is sore. Have tried to sleep through it but the pain wakes me up after a matter of minutes.

I'm having definite tightenings but am finding it hard to identify them and time them.

Should I keep trying to rest? Or should I get up and walk around to try and bring on the contractions properly?

Sounds like it!
I would try and rest, you are going to need the energy. Plus if it is all kicking off contractions will soon get themselves going.
Good luck Thanks

Rest if you can, while you can and conserve your energy. Smile

If your waters have gone you should call the midwife to let them know, if you haven't already. They might want you to go in to the hospital (they did with me)
