Is this labour?

Will the baby completely stop moving when labour starts? I am not sure if he has or not. I am also not sure if these are strong Braxton Hicks or real contractions.

I am finding it very uncomfortable to lie down and go to sleep. This is my second baby and this feels different to the first, should it be?

If in doubt perhaps you should phone the midwives and see what they say.

my 2nd labour was different. apparently baby does quiten down, but i would call labour ward and just let them know your thoughts on it and see what they think.

I found that real labour contractions were very different to BHs. BHs were more spread over the bump, whereas labour contractions were distinctly low down in the bump, didn't involve the upper half at all.

Also nothing eased labour contractions. A rest would ease BHs, and a walk would ease 'false' contractions, but once things had started for real then I just had to go through each contraction because nothing would stop the next one coming IYSWIM.
