I think I have a prolapse

I had DS2 fifteen weeks ago - second vaginal delivery and 2nd degree tear again and no, I haven't been doing pelvic floor exercises because I am an idiot.

Had a persistent cough for a week and then mild cramps that felt like period pains. I was annoyed, assuming my period was coming despite ebfing.

But - there is now a flesh coloured lump hanging in my vagina. It doesn't hurt but I am conscious of it. I felt sort of...unsecured when I discovered it yesterday morning but did pelvic floor exercises for about an hour straight and that feeling has gone but the lump is still protruding.

Is this a prolapse? I have a smear test booked for Tuesday, can I have it looked at then or should I make a separate appointment?

I know that I definitely don't want to Google this but I'm feeling a sense of fascinated horror about it...can anyone tell me more (hopefully something reassuring!)?

I have no firsthand experience but my mum's had a prolapse successfully repaired surgically and feels a lot better for it. Hopefully this won't be necessary for you but just wanted you to know it's a possibility if other treatments fail. Hope someone with something more reassuring to add will come along.

I developed one after DC2, saw the GP and she said to do Pilates / yoga and about a million kegels each day, and to avoid heavy lifting. It's taken about 3 months but its pretty much back to normal now.

Oh, and I terrified myself by googling - the surgical options looked horrific and I was pretty certain my sex life was never going to recover but all is fine in that department now :)

You can get something to hold it up now can't you? Lasts a few months?

Get it looked at when you have your smear.
