I had a c section so it was a while but about five months. I probably could have before bit liked the comfort (I wasn't in maternity but loose trousers)

I wouldn't ask randoms online. It will have no bearing on your own situation. It depends how much you gain and whether you breastfeed, how active you are and what your post-partum appetite is like.

If you really want to know - I was at my pre-pregnancy weight with a couple of weeks. I had only gained 20lb so a stone came off just with the birth then breastfeeding sucked the rest out.

See? Best not to ask!

Think I cheated and bought new (slightly larger) non maternity jeans after about 3 months...

9 months, and that was the divorce diet.

Otherwise I doubt I would ever have made it!

As long as you don't drown yourself in cake, its usually nine months on, nine months off.

I'm not telling you whether I was a cake drowner or not!

Five days- I know I was very lucky.

Also 5 days. I had morning sickness followed by diabetes and hardly gained any weight. My skin was saggy for about 3 weeks then it went back too. My mum was the same, as was my nan after each of her 8 kids.

I can't fit in them now though. The return to work has been a killer and I've ended up living on rubbish!

with dc1 about a week.

With dc2 I got depressed and comfort ate. a lot. gave up getting back into them ever again.

Have dc3 now. I don't wear jeans. dresses are far more forgiving.

I had a cs 4 weeks ago and was back within 2/3 weeks.

As pp said, it depends on your original weight, amount gained, breastfeeding etc.

Within a week. 6 months later and they're falling off me. Breastfeeding.

First time, EMCS and problems BFing - a few weeks definitely. I still looked 5 months pregnant a few weeks later.

This time, a vaginal birth and started off BFing - a week. But they're my comfy jeans, still a bit snug in my others, but to be fair, they were snug before too. I can't believe how quick my uterus went down this time.

Btw I breastfed for 19 months. Didn't contribute to the loss of one single, solitary pound...

Report
CPtart · 21/07/2014 20:41

Within a week too, was breast feeding.
The midwife struggled to palpate my uterus at all the second day post delivery.
The state of the skin on my belly however....is another matter!

8 days post section but I had only gained 1.5kg by the date of section. Also have a fair bit of padding so jeans where not teeny tiny to start with.

On DC1's fourth birthday! I had had DC2 in the meantime & he was 17mths then. Whilst it was a victory of sorts to be finally in pre-pregnancy clothes, I realised that, in the almost five years since I'd last worn them, my old boot cuts looked distinctly old fashioned and I also needed a higher waist as the waist of these ones sat just below my tummy pouch and emphasised it.
I had a BMI of 26 for about five years before I got pregnant (I always meant to lose half a stone and get into the "healthy" category but rarely was), gained 4 stone when pregnant with DC1, lost one stone during birth/first week or so, despite ebf constantly I only lost another 9lbs in the first year which was a bit of a wake up call, lost 1.5 stone in the next 7 months when I got pregnant (so was about half a stone over my pre-preg weight when I got pregnant with DC2), gained 3.5 stone, lost that by DC2's first birthday & lost the remaining half stone or so over the next five months to get me back to my "proper" pre-preg weight.
Despite my intentions, I eat when tired, lonely, stressed etc so the chances of me losing weight with a newborn are minimal. We also have no family support locally so I couldn't leave a baby with a family member whilst I went to the gym or similar as some of my friends did. I would also far rather curl up on the sofa than exercise. Yes, I look back at photos and think "look at the size of my thighs" but that thought is quickly replaced with thinking about how gorgeous whichever of the DC is in the photos looks.

I could probably have fitted into them after a week (but never tried), but I was v poorly after the birth and lost lots of weight, quite quickly. I'd much rather have lost weight slower and more healthily. When I look at the pictures, early on, I look awful :(

Two or three weeks. Breastfeeding.

4/5 months with both of them.

I wore maternity jeans for a month because they were comfier post section. Then I had a couple of inbetween size pairs to tide me over until the weight all came off.
