Best tips for getting contractions going again?

I'm 39+2 with dc2, dc1 came at 39+4 so I wasn't surprised when I started getting contractions through last night. They started off mild but were getting stronger up to approx 1 min long, 5 mins apart. Around 6.30am I realised that we needed to sort DS out and I diverted my attention to arranging for our childminder to pick him up so DH could stay with me and get the pool set up as we're planning a homebirth. I tried to keep things as normal as possible for DS before he left and then helped DH with the pool... He wasn't v calm about it and we had a few sharp words at each other. By the time we'd finished setting it up my contractions had stopped :( and haven't yet restarted! Am just getting so frustrated as we have overnight Childcare sorted for DS tonight and through tomorrow so now is the time really to get this baby out!!

So...what are your best tips for getting those contractions going again?

So far I've tried a bath, resting lying down, bouncing on my ball, watching a DVD to distract me, eating pineapple, raspberry leaf tea...

A long walk, I'm sure that helped speed up my contractions when they started with ds2 x good luck x

Hoping the weather holds as about to head out for a walk now. We'd walked for ages yesterday morning which I think helped get stuff started last night so here's hoping! Bump v v tight and never stopped being period pain achey all day.

Nipple tweaking/rolling! Worked for me. Literally felt a small contraction come on every time I did it and then things got going properly. Had had 2 sweeps and lots of slow labour for days do was obviously ripe but sounds like you are too. Good luck!
