Just that really. I had a 3rd degree tear and episiotomy, had to be stitched up in theatre. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar check up and can give an idea as to what it will entail? It's in addition to check up at GP.

They will ask about how the whole area feels, want to know if you have full bladder/bowel control and yes unfortunately it will involve an examination and a finger up the bum. They may discuss how well (or not) you have healed and how that could affect future births. If you havent healed well they will discuss what options you have regarding corrective surgery.

Its a good oppourtunity for you to ask any questions and ask them to copy you on the letter they send to your gp so you have it for your own records as well.

I had 4th degree tear with my DS 2.5 years ago.
