Hello MNers!
I'm 39 weeks pregnant today and, after a weekend of incessant itching, I called my local birth centre, told the midwife about the itching, and she has said she wants to rule out ICP. I have an appointment today at 2.30.
I've been looking into ICP this morning and it seems that most people are diagnosed a lot earlier in pregnancy. 39 weeks seems a little bit late to be looking into it because if it is ICP (not getting ahead of myself - just thinking IF) by the time I get test results/a diagnoses, any damage will already have been done.
Anyone have any experience of late ICP diagnosis? Would they just offer an induction straightaway based on suspicion without a confirmed diagnose if they suspect anything or would they wait? I'm just really scared but trying not to over worry as it's probably nothing.
Thank you for any advice x
