YABU <<boak>>

mikkii Thu 29-Aug-13 23:19:49

Mine was so large it could have replaced the 5 fishes grin

Yuk!

BigBrassBand Thu 29-Aug-13 23:29:39

I know times are hard but surely a pack of mince would be more appetising! grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss Thu 29-Aug-13 23:35:06

Why would you? It has nutritional value to you apparently, "studies have shown that eating the placenta can curb postpartum depression, replenish nutrients, increase milk production, and slow postpartum hemmorrhage." but these are benefits for you. Im not sure your family really need them! hmm

ClartyCarol Thu 29-Aug-13 23:38:30

Oh don't be daft.

Yes of course yabu.

ClartyCarol Thu 29-Aug-13 23:39:14

Don't be daft OP, that is.

noblegiraffe Fri 30-Aug-13 10:04:33

Would it be cannibalism? confused

noisytoys Fri 30-Aug-13 10:09:38

YABU why would they want to eat it. Why not just give them a nice burger?

TortillasAndChocolate Fri 30-Aug-13 12:20:49

Er yes... Pretty sure it's illegal too. You can only eat your own!

And you would do this because.......?

NatashaBee Fri 30-Aug-13 12:26:05

Blerk.

WildThongsHeartString Fri 30-Aug-13 12:26:24

<boak> <retch> <boak>

Check for hairs first mind

usualsuspect Fri 30-Aug-13 12:32:54

Is that you Jamie?

slash of balsamic, pinch of basil, drizzle of olive oil.

Can't beat it.

ipswichwitch Fri 30-Aug-13 12:37:41

is that not cannibalism?..........
you'd be hard pressed to find many family members comfortable with eating relatives body parts (internet weirdos aside)

ipswichwitch Fri 30-Aug-13 12:38:28

also, how would you cook it.......with fava beans and a nice chianti ..........

AmberLeaf Fri 30-Aug-13 12:41:17

Why? eating your own is one thing, but feeding it to the family is cannibalism.

morethanpotatoprints Fri 30-Aug-13 12:46:49

Er, can you imagine them agreeing to it, grin
I think my dh and dc would have thought I'd gone mad if I suggested it.
If they aren't old enough to understand could you imagine the conversation in years to come.
Ok, if you want to eat it go ahead, but don't expect your family to.

Bellini28 Fri 30-Aug-13 14:50:56

Eeeeeww!! My dh would have me sectioned for even suggesting it. We decided to bank ours. But if you do feel you would like to make use of your placenta who don't you donate it to blood cord research... Probably better than eating it!!

EasyMark Fri 30-Aug-13 14:58:07

I personally would not but you could express breast milk and give them that as it containes everything and more than what the placenta has.

mummyaimz Fri 30-Aug-13 15:13:55

Ipswichwitch you beat me to it with the fava beans and a nice chianti. When I gave birth, after when the placenta came out I asked if I could see it and I swear I nearly threw up. Didnt Tom cruise get Katie Holmes to eat her placenta because of Scientology?

SignoraStronza Fri 30-Aug-13 15:27:53

Sounds like an offal ideasad .
