Infection caused prem birth

Hi,my DD was born at 34 weeks and from what I can make out the reason for this was an infection. If I decide to TTC DC2 would I see the midwife more often and be checked reguarly for infection - Sorry if that is a really silly question but I am intrested to hear from anyone who had a similar experience and then went on to have another baby, thanks in advance 
My sister had my niece (now 12 yrs old )at 26 weeks and it was also put down to infection.
She went onto to have two more and was under consultant hospital led care for both, happy to say they were full term with no problems.
