Changing discharge at 40+6 weeks?

Can anyone help, I'm 40+6 weeks (and fairly relaxed about late baby) but I noticed my discharge (TMI sorry!) was much more mucous like today rather than milky. Ongoing BHs and menstrual cramps in last 3weeks so I'm not jumping with excitement at every twinge (and this is DC no.2). Is this changing hormones - no plug yet though.
