retained products? retained placenta?

hi i had my baby 12 weeks ago and finally ive stopped bleeding. i had a scan after my check up at 10 weeks and they found a tiny bit of placenta still in there. ive been in hospital to have a d+c but they cancelled it so i starved for 2 days. now they tell me its to small to have it done as its about 1.5cm, they told me its not worth the op to get it out as it can damaged my in sides more due to putting a hole in my womb then having to have keyhole to sow it back up again. but now its a waiting game to know wots going on, are they gonna leave it? or wait till i get ill cus of it? i just dont know dont fancy getting ill.
Anyone had the same thing after a retined placenta? or going threw it now? cus im so scared of having the op but scared ill get ill with 2 kids to look after.
i once talked to a waomen who had it done but she waited 4 months before she had the op as it diidnt go away. so thats scared me.
now the bleeding stopped ireally want my period to start so hopefully it will shred away fingers crossed but i havent had a preiod yet and dying to start it.

anyway who has had this or going threw it please get it touch with me to calm my nerves cus im going insane with worry,

are you breastfeeding or formula feeding? because my periods didn't return for a year when i was bf.

Mine didn't come back for nearly a year either. Please go back and talk to the consultant about this, because the worry and uncertainty is going to be awful for you if you don't. If they can't put your mind at rest then ask about the operation again.

im bottle feeding due to loss of blood after my son, had the placenta removed just after he was born lost about a litre of blood etc, so it was advised not to breastfeed. couldnt last time either cus it got so sore.

just wish i would have a preiod asap just incase it will get rid of it. its only 1.5cm last scan. just dont really want to get ill cus of it. How long was it before it comes out? etc or if it ever will or if anyone got ill cus of it and let me know the signs etc.
seeing my doc on weds am to see my results and find out wots going on cus i have no app to see the consultant yet maybe she can put it forward for me. its just a waiting game and im scared ill get ill soon enough and go threw it all again etc.
