Are our children growing up to quickly because of the media or society?

From watching 'Too Much, Too Young' I was shocked to see how few sexual items of clothing were in our stores from reading papers I always worried there were to many and blamed stores. But is it out society? do we just accept that our children's friends wear those kinds of clothes so I suppose mine can?
