DS anger control issues

I am desperate for advice.
My ds is 8 and has huge explosive tantrums during which he will kick punch and hit anyone in his way. He will throw things out the window, destroy prized possessions, draw on things. He will say cruel things to me, DH and our other DC.he will swear and shout. Sometimes he appears angry but other times curiously detached even when people appear upset.
It is like flicking a switch between the two states, sometimes there is a 'reason' yet other times I cannot fathom out why it is happening.
We have tried various techniques but nothing has made any difference. This has been going on for years but as he is growing bigger I am concerned that he will hurt somebody or himself.

He seems like he is always on edge, sees the world as against him and often says that he is rubbish at things.

Sorry if this is long, I just wanted to paint a true picture.

Does he o the same thing at school or save it for home? If be does do it at school, what have they put in place to help?

I think that, as a family, you need help from people who see children in rages like this every day. If school is closed for he summer I would suggest that you start with your local children's centre or GP who may be able to offer support.

If school is still going, they could help with a process such as Team Around the Child which puts support in place. It is totally voluntary and you can stop it if you want, but it would give access to other people.

Wishing you lots of luck.
