When it happens I intend to eat them .

I have warned the children already, they discussed which one should be first, we have only had them for 3 months

Mine always get eaten by the fox or die before they stop laying. I have mostly pure-breds though, I gather the hybrids that have been bred for lots of eggs can stop laying as early as their 2nd year. In which case I'd eat them - but it'll have to be casserole and not roast.

Eat them, or keep them as pets. My dad's lived for years, was called Betty and only had one leg. I reckon the pot is a better option.
