Soft shell/no shell eggs - healthy chicken

Sorry if this is long but I need to explain it all. We got four 6 week old chicks at the start of summer and they all started laying between 5/8 weeks ago. We have 2 white stars and 2 bluebells. The white stars lay big white eggs every day, one of the bluebells lays 5/6 smaller brown eggs each week - she has had one or two soft shells.

Now the bigger of the bluebells lays like this:

Day 1 - two soft/no shells (both are already in the house by the time they are let out at 6.30am)
Day 2 - small brown egg (around 9.00am)
Day 3 - v big brown egg (often double yolk)
Day 4 - small brown egg
Day 5 - two soft/no shells, etc

She seems healthy, not losing weight and eating/drinking well, movements appear OK - they are pretty much free to roam and when there are shells on the eggs they are good hard shells.

Is this just her laying pattern or does it sound like a problem?
Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound like a problem to me, she is still quite young and mine took a while to get into a routine. If she is laying some normal eggs then "the system" is working but just experiencing a few hiccups. I think you'll find the eggs will settle down and become more consistent but you may still get the odd soft shell.

Thank you, we are still quite new to all this and wanted to make sure it was normal.

They will start laying normal eggs and you will be surprised how many double yolk eggs appear in the early months.

If you do find soft shells later on, you could scatter some oyster shell which hardens them up nicely.
