The unethical adoption practices of the mid-20th century in UK

I ask today's mums, young and not so young, please to think about the anguish and grief suffered by mothers in the 1950s, 60s, 70s and even 1980s who were coerced into giving their babies for adoption because they were not married. They were made to believe that they were not good enough to parent their own children because they were unmarried.

The Movement for an Adoption Apology (formed in 2010) now seeks an apology from the government for these unethical adoption practices. Please see our Facebook page and our website www.movementforanadoptionapology.org and please sign our Avaaz petition "to the leaders of all the political parties..." Please come back to me if you have any questions.

Thank you today's mums.

Helen
