I'm planning a charity event for next march for the M.S. society to mark 10 years since my diagnosis. I'm wanting to run an auction and wondered if anyone can share any tips for companies / days out to contact or not to bother with to gain some decent prizes?

Hi Jellymaker
I would try contacting the TV companies that put on the likes of Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip and Antiques Roadshow because many of the people giving advice about things are auctioneers themselves and they may be willing to be your auctioneer You could always approach companies like John Lewis or Marks and Spencer to see if they would give you lots of vouchers or food hampers or both !!! I, myself run a decluttering company, March is nearly Spring so spring cleaning/ decluttering . I would like to offer a free declutter to anyone that ASKS for one. ( I have said that as essentially someone is letting a total stranger into their home and it has to be what they want as there has to be a great element of trust ) Please let me know if you think this is a good idea. Good luck

Contact large retailers and wholesalers. Often they will gove you something that has been on the shelf for a while.
If you can stand outside a supermarket and ask people to buy something if they can - this might be better for a raffle.
