The British Afghan Women's Society in London is still accepting
donations of winter baby clothes, baby hats, mittens, blankets and
other children's winter items for a humanitarian air cargo which will
take off from Liege Airport in Belgium at the end of October. The
items will be sent to the refugee camps in Kabul, Afghanistan, where
last winter at least 23 children under the age of five froze to death,
as reported by the BBC and the New York Times. Approximately 35,000
Afghans are living in unheated tents, without adequate nutrition or
clothing for the bitter cold Afghan winter. Most are fleeing the war
raging in the countryside. The donations are being flown to
Afghanistan through the generous donated services of air cargo
companies.

Donations are being accepted at:

The British Afghan Women?s Society
Community House, 311, Fore Street, Edmonton, N9 0PZ, London

The Society wishes to thank those who have already donated.
