In married, in my 40s, 4 healthy, happy DCs. DH's brother is severely disabled and a big part of our life. He knows from first hand experience how great 'a few hours off' from caring for a disabled child can be for a family. I'm in primary education, loads of experience of children and child development. We don't have the time or facilities to offer foster care but would love to do respite care - a few hours every fortnight or so - to a disabled child. Do any of you know if this is feasible? And what's our first port of call? Social services? Thanks! Merry Christmas!
