Here Is this the same Which review that took the rear facing car seats they do not recommend but only tested them forwards facing - so got low scores for safety. Is it a new study and if so how did they test the rear facing seats this time??
Thanks

I think this is the latest Which review. The bit about the rear facers is in the last paragraph. It doesn't say how they were tested. I have the izi combi and it was rated highly for safety in Sweden so I am suprised that Which rated it poorly.

There was a representative of Which on TV the other day advising not to buy a 'complicated seat like this' when showing a rear facer. I know Which felt last year that the potential for incorrect installation outweighed the improved safety of rear facing seats.

It would be more informative to read the original Which article, but I'm not a subscriber.

Sorry Loopy - as Yeni says I was referring to the last paragraph about rear facing seats. We also have the izi combi. I think it is a fantastic seat personally and looks far more robust than the forwards facing seat we used for DDs #1 and #2. We had ours fitted where we bought it and have all the instructions which are not hard to follow if you take the time to read them and follow step by step. I think Which need a kick up the backside if they are still referring to the old article - if the swedish can do it then so can we!!

You have only got to look at the utube video of crash testing for rear and forward seats to know that rear facing are much safer - no contest. Which downgraded the rear seats on grounds of fitting. Pathetic, ours was easy to fit and solid as a rock.

nowhere in the last paragraph does it mention rear facing seats being tested, it says about removing the backrest too early on a carseat.

Some of the seats referred to in the last paragraph are rear facers but it doesn't say that they are rear facers.
