Car seats

Does your child (in age 4-11 car seat) get irritated by the headrest?

I need to get one for dd, but the space for the head looks so narrow. DD is the sort who gets annoyed by coats that zip up to her face, itchy labels etc. Would the headrest annoy her? Can you get group 2/3 car seats without the narrow head space?

Take her along to try them out? My eldest DD also gets irritated by stuff like that, but was OK with the headrest. But she definitely preferred the one we bought to others in the shop. Can't remember which it was, now.

yes I know the 'ears' are essential, thats why we have them, I would like to find one that has a slightly bigger space between them though

We have a Recaro car seat which actually reclines really well so our DS doesn't mind it at all. It was the only one which really seemed to be comfortable. And our DS is the same when it comes to zips, labels, collars etc.

we have the britax adventure and ds1 doesn't mind at all, in fact, he likes it to rest his head on, and it's useful if he falls asleep

the graco ones however, have a wider space and the headrests aren't so large

we have britax too, the graco ones don't look like they give any support, so would maxi cosi be a good in between?

i'd take her into halfords or mothercare and just try some out...

ah but then we'll have to get a pink one, no matter how safe or comfy it is

ahhhh! in that case, go in first and make them remove all pink options lol

That's what I thought when John Lewis said 'Bring her in,' she'll brook nothing other than a pink one with a cup holder.

now now i won't hear a word said about cup holders!!!

i love cup holders!

when we were buying a car once we had a choice of 2, one had cup holders one didn't. DP made me get the one without (just cos it was a better car!) and I never forgave him! pmsl
