Car seats

What's the simplest, best value car seat suitable for a 2 year old and upwards?

So I don't have to keep swapping my car seat in to my mum and dad's car, I want to buy one to leave with them... however, they won't want to leave it permenantly in their car so it needs to be simple to fit (they can't cope with complicated arrangements involving feeding the seat belt through 15 different bits) and not too hideously expensive, as it's not going to be our main car seat.

Any thoughts?

what about the kiddy infinity. It does up with a seat belt round the front as has the impact cushion to keep child in place, has come out as the Which? best car seat aswell.

Before you make a purchase, please check out www.rearfacing.co.uk - it could save your kid's life.

I've just bought an Evolva 123plus (britax) on offer from kiddicare for £100, £50 off, its a 9m to 11 years one and easy to install. We've already got the (nearly) same one for older baby - the new version has nicer straps etc, seemed good value.

If you can afford the Britax Multi Tech (sold by some retailers as the Nordic Multi Tech), it's a rear-facing version of the Evolva that MMWA mentions (so lasts a long time (to at least 9 years of age - but rearfacing till 25kgs, or about 5 years). Being rear-facing, your younger child's chances of surviving a frontal collision (god forbid) are five times that of a child travelling in a forward facing seat.

i would recommend a rf seat too. we have the britax two way elite and they aren't as heavy or hard to install as everyone thinks. they will last to 25kgs too so longer than most other group 1 seats. hth

i wouldnt recommend an evolva 1-2-3, although its a fab seat, its not the easiest to fit,its very easy to twist the belts when installing,so probably wouldnt be great for them,
i would also recommend a kiddy infinity one,
