Love ours. They are basically just a big solid cushion equivalent so in terms of safety I would just say they're as safe as any booster seat. Only designed to put the seatbelt in the correct position.

But they are great for travelling, useful on trains and planes so the kids can see better. And big enough to carry a few essentials for the journey. Also imo small enough to stop my kids packing the kitchen sink as "essential". They've managed to carry them themselves since they were 5ish.

I'd definitely recommend them.

Yep, really good. Ours is in Majorca with us just now, 6 1/2 year old DD1 used it in the transfer taxi. I really like the red clip that goes on the seatbelt to keep it on the child's shoulder.

Yes they are fab. We have used them on loads of holidays and quickly made the money back in not hiring car seats when we got there. No need to worry about whether the car seats where you are going will be available/good enough. Perfect for putting in enough for the journey.
I keep them in the back of the car so that when we have sudden 'can you pick my child up' kinds of requests they are always around.

Also a fan. Ours has come in handy for holidays/trips and also picking up DC friends at last minute.
