Car seats

Installing Britax Dualfix

Hi, I have just got my Dualfix back from my ex and had a go at installing it in my mum's car. I managed to get the Isofix attachments latched on so that the indicators turned green on both sides, but cannot push the seat forwards so it ratchets closer to the seat like on the installation video.

I have a sore back at the moment so it was hurting to bend over and twist, but I suspect I just haven't got the strength to do it. If you have this seat do you find it easy (I watched a foreign video where the woman uses her knee as opposed to the official video where the man just pushes it forward).

The man at the shop I originally got it from was off today or I would have asked him to check, so for now my mum is stuck with two rather large car seats in her car.

I moved the front car seat forwards and sat between the dual fix and the front car seat with my back to the front car seat facing the dual fix and pushed so my back on the back of the front car seat helped. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for replying, I eventually copied the woman on YouTube and used my knee, and got the rebound bar against the seat.

I must be quite a weakling as I have to push the material if the back seat out of the way attach the seat onto the Isofix in the car. The man who first fitted it just pushed the seat forward and it attached. If I try that it just ratchets forward but doesn't actually attach.

Did the seat come with any plastic ISOFIX guides? Like in these pictures www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.497731600370694.1073741895.282362311907625&type=3
If you have these it will make it easier for you to find the ISOFIX points and initially attach the car seat to them.

I tried with the guides but find it easier without. I just pushed the back seat and backrest out of the way and kept my finger on the Isofix bar. I just don't get how some people can get them attached just by pushing the car seat in vaguely the right direction.

It's in know though, and I feel confident I can do it in the future as well so alls well that ends well.
