Britax Babysafe SHR straps jamming

Does anyone else with a Britax Babysafe SHR car seat experience the straps jamming up behind the seat periodically. This is our second of these seats bought new for my daughter in Feb this year and only used since Easter. We didn't have this issue with the first one (bought in 2009) but this one every so often gets the strap jammed up at the back and the only way to fix is to take the baby out, turn it over and wiggle/tease/yank the straps until the yoke where the two straps join comes free and they can move again.

It is obviously pretty annoying and looks like a design fault, but Britax claim that it is not an issue they have ever heard of.

We didn't have that particular issue but I did have to return 2 with jammed handles in 2012. Britax also insisted that it wasn't a design fault Hmm despite me finding other similar stories online and both seats coming from different stores so different batches. Halfords were helpful to be fair and gave me a refund the second time when I refused another exchange. I bought a Babysafe - non SHR version - from elsewhere and never had an issue with it. Have you returned to the shop when you bought it?

I took it back to Halfords (it was ordered online and collected in store). They no longer sell any Britax car seats and after about 40 mins of fiddling with the west and calling Britax they told me that I have to take it up directly with Britax. Apparently they won't do anything unless I send it back to them to be examined and pay a deposit to borrow a replacement, which is massively inconvenient.

They still sell all of these on their website Britax seats in Halfords. If Halfords refuse to help you further I would take advice from trading standards - your contract is with the store not the manufacturer and that is an unacceptable fault. Good luck!
