Thats all and a bit of a stealth boast (sorry!) - but am feeling very happy that I have a lovely new seat for DD. I have been very swayed by the arguments for rear facing I've read here and even though my family and other mum friends think I am crazy for a) not letting DD look forwards and b) spending so much money, I don't care!

We're making it DD's first birthday present as I doubt she will be expecting anything. We weren't going to bother wrapping it or anything silly like that but as its come in a massive cardboard box I might turn it into a wendy house and I suspect that will be a much bigger hit than a new car seat!

That's a great post! And what a good idea about making it her birthday present - at that age they have no clue about birthdays anyway, and as you say, she will have great fun with the box. I often think, when people say they can't afford ERF, why don't they ask for money towards a new seat for the baby's first birthday.

You have made an excellent decision - RF is much much safer for your precious little one and who cares what other people think.

But, you forgot to mention which fancy ERF seat you chose? Don't leave us hanging!

The box that our triofix came in was favourite toy for two weeks!

HelicopterDad - its a triofix recline!
I don't have a regular car - am always swapping as my DP sells cars and I drive whatever is currently taxed, so I needed the smallest one that is easy to move between cars. It took me half an hour playing with it - and now I know how to fit it isofix and belt and am ready to go! Although I actually need to go read the instructions on DD's infant carrier as I think she can still use that for a while - her heads near the top but not out of it yet.
Am hoping its the only car seat she'll ever need...

Hello bouncinbean I hope you revisit this thread. I am stalking these boards looking for a spare car seat for my son for when I go back to work.

You said you were looking for a small car seat, do you find it easy to swap between cars? I am after something very easy to fit for my mum and dad to use, and would rather it wasn't ridiculously heavy and cumbersome for them. It seems heavy to me, do you find it a problem?
