Can any one recommend this seat? For the price it seems too good to be true.

Although saying that, I can imagine the alarm might eventually piss me off.

I bought 2 of these, one for my car and one for DMs. No problems that I can see at all. Easy enough to fix in, stable on the seat, easily adjustable straps.

Only annoying thing is the alarm that goes off when the belt isn't done up. If you don't have the DC and haven't done it up, it beeps incessantly from the back seat until you stop and do it up! Batteries have run out on mine now though

Its made by Team tex (all babyweaver and naina seats are) Generally poor quality plastic. No metal casing. Often difficult to fit rear and forward facing without it being unstable or having buckle crunch. And of course majority of parents aren't trained to spot things like that.

Team tex seats generally don't do well on crash testing and wont have gone through the additional testing that other brands do. You'll do better to get a reduced britax or maxi cosi.

Better still look at rearfacing.co.uk and consider a ERF seat.

Joie stages is a good buy and available at around £120 or a hauck variguard (rf with isofix til 18kg belted til 13kg) around £150.

What oadcb said - teamtex are a bag of shite and personally I wouldn't touch them, very poor quality.

Whatever seat you go for, please go to a store (kiddicare, mothercare etc) to get it tested in your car.

Why stores are allowed to sell any car seat off the shelf/online without anyone knowing if it is even compatible in their car is beyond me!

I'd go for the Britax First Class - far superior.

I've used this seat from birth for all three of my babies, my older two children were rear facing in it until about 18 months but DD2 (now that I have discovered the joys of ERF) has moved to a Britax Multi Tech. But I still use the First Class for her sometimes (rear facing of course)

Good find Alicemum09 but OP please go somewhere first before ordering. Britax first class often buckle crunches in some cars.

The test is R.44.04:

This is the basic standard that every single child seat on the market must pass in order to be sold in Europe and the UK. The previous standards of R44.01 and R44.02 are illegal to be used and sold (including second hand sales) and R44.03 may still be used but not sold. It is also worth noting here that seats from America are illegal to use in the UK.

1 frontal impact at 32mph

1 rear impact at 18mph
