Removing maxi cosi cabriofix cover for washing

Please please please could a bright spark out there tell me how to remove this cover for washing before I throw the entire car seat across the room?!! I have spent the last hour on the internet and cannot find out how to do this anywhere. The instructions on the website are dreadful. I have managed to get it almost all off but the adjuster strap at the foot end prevents me from removing it completely. I cannot for the life of me figure it out and I thought I was a normal intelligent person! Any tips? Please save me from myself......

the only advise i can offer is on my mamas and papas car seat the adjuster strap was in a plastic outer shell which you pulled the whole plastic thing out then when you replaced the cover it just snapped back in, is yours the same i could not of got the cover off without removing this, only other thing is email maxi cosi, i will look on line at instructions and see, i am always taking covers off things to wash them and over the years have done many prams and car seats theres always a way

hope this helps found this on another chat room they have removed pics but hope it makes sense i see what you mean by the instructions useless, Right once you've got as far as getting the cover and it's just being held on by the adjustment strap have a look at the bit I've circled in purple

The adjustment strap unhooks but it's quite hard to see that it does as it looks like a solid plastic bar but there's actually a gap in the middle of it.

Once it's un-hooked the cover comes off easily. Hope that helps, would be a lot easier if they put a picture in the instructions, we'd near enough removed the whole harness before we realised the strap came off there

I've already taken off everything I can see. Maxi Cosi's instructions are appalling both in the leaflet and online. Thanks for replying though! There is definately a way because I've seen other forums where peeps are asking how to get the cover back on! I'm slowly losing the plot lol xx

or this description
the looped bit unhooks as the bar it's looped through has a gap in the middle (if that makes sense?) So you can turn the strap sideways and wiggle it out through the gap.

OMG I am laughing my head off ha ha ha it is soooooooooeasy when you know how! It's oooooooooooooooooooooooooffffff! Woo hoo! Prams, your second description was just the ticket. WELL DONE! XXXX

Hi new to mums net, came a across this when I too was looking how the hell to take the seat cover off to wash it for baby2. Oh my god!!!! How complicated was that until I read your useful simply instruction prams galore. Why the he'll couldn't maxi cosi make it that simply in their useless instructions. Thanks Pram I was getting extremely frustrated!!!! Finally got it off, washed & waiting for it to dry!!!! Lol

Trillian42 · 29/10/2011 15:27

I'm obviously completely dense but I can't find the bit you guys meant. Any one's help? Pretty please??

folkin · 27/11/2011 13:27

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I thought I was going to go insane. who knew that it all that was between myself and madness was a small bit of black plastic.

StealthPolarBear · 27/11/2011 13:30

you just wait until you try to get it back on :)

langley0509 · 21/12/2011 09:14

Hi,

I am new to Mumsnet but about to lose the plot trying to replace the cover on my maxi cosi!

Can anyone help? I have completely forgotten how I took it off and the instruction are useless!

Has anyone got one they could take a picture of the underside so I can see what it is meant to look like?

Thanks
:)

StealthPolarBear · 21/12/2011 09:15

I can't do that but if you tell me which bit you're stuck on I can maybe help?

langley0509 · 21/12/2011 09:19

I have just started so the adjustment strap is supposed to attach somewhere and I don't know where! It is through a hole on the black plastic base now but not sure from here.... thanks

StealthPolarBear · 21/12/2011 22:47

Does it not slot through an equivalent hole in the cover.
Sorry just got back to this...you've probably done it Blush

spawnywhippet · 31/01/2012 13:20

Thanks to all above, this thread saved me hours of searching. Why don't they put this stuff in the instructions!!!

PieMistress · 31/03/2012 23:20

Have lost my instructions! Did you wash it at 40C with bio powder?

Mam88 · 23/04/2012 10:56

HI,
Thank you so much for this thread! this car seat has been driving me insane for weeks! I feel a bit silly knowing now how easy this is! Maxi Cosi instructions were pants!

kingjam76 · 26/06/2012 14:40

OMG, how easy is it really? Thank you everyone for asking and answering this question. Mine was about to go out the window! Have taken out bits that probably shouldn't come out but will make sure they go back together properly!

Thanks again guys!

BeckyE · 16/07/2012 11:14
