I'm confused! We have just bought a Maxi Cosi Rodi XR for DS who has just turned 4 (today in fact - woo hoo!).
I know that for know it's better that he is in a high backed booster such as this, but am I right in thinking that as kids get older (eg 8/9/10 etc) they often move to just using a booster cushion?
I seem to remember that that was the case with my nephew but I might be wrong.
When I was in John Lewis the assistant said that the MC Rodi XR could be used both ways - ie you could just use the base as a booster cushion (and so I wouldn't need to buy another seat further down the line).
Just got it out of the box and am looking at instructions. Clearly says that both parts must be used together and there is a picture of the base only being used, with a big "no no" line through it.
Is this just because highback booster seats are better and so they recommend using both or is it that the base can't physically be installed as just a booster cushion (ie the assistant was wrong).
Not something I need to worry about for years as obviously will be installing it as a high back - but just wondered whether most eg 10 years olds (or whatever age) tend to stay in high backs or move to booster cushions and if so, whether this seat can be used in this way. Thanks in advance
