Travel cot or bed guard for 20 Month old in Caravan?

Hi, We'll be going on a big family weekend away next month in a Caravan. When we went before there were less of us so we could re-arrange the furniture to fit a travel cot in the bedroom but this time that won't be an option. In the very likely event that we can't fit the cot in our room we'll either have to put it up in the living room (not ideal as the older children will still be up)or use a bed guard. Anyone else had this problem? If so, I'd be really grateful for suggestions of what to do for the best!

Thanks

Not sure how old your little one is but we used a bed guard in our caravan for our DS2 from about 12 months old - we put him on the bottom bunk with a bed guard and a few cushions on the floor just in case. It was always fine. He never wriggled round it (well at least not in his sleep!) Our van is pretty small and a travel cot wasn't an option.

i took a bed guard with me last year when ds was 22 month and he was fine. He enjoyed the adventure.

Thanls, thats reassuring to know. He will be 21 months by then so I think we will chance our luck with a bed guard and if that fails we'll all sleep in the living room!
