Camping in UK in Sept with a 6 month old - what will we need??

Hiya,
Title says it all really, we are planning on going camping in the UK (maybe the lakes) in early-mid Sept when our baby will be 6 months old.
Do you have any advice on what to take? What would she sleep in/on?
Any special gear we should buy? We will be in a 3 man tent with a medium sized car to give you an idea of how much stuff we'd be able to carry.

We took a travel cot for our baby the first time we went camping with her. In the end she didn't sleep in it but we used it as a playpen. She was cold in it as she didn't have enough insulation. She slept with us on our self inflating mats in a grobag and then in a sleeping bag with a light wool blanket on top. Sounds like a lot but she would have been cold otherwise. She slept with us and that also helped to keep her warm. Some nights we put a hat on her as she seemed to be losing so much heat from her head.

Apart from that, the most useful thing I found when camping with a baby was a sling but then I already had one.

Also useful tip take a small towel that you can put down in the shower for the baby to sit on/lie on whilst you get things organised. I then used to sit down with the baby between my knees on the towel and wash her with me. Stopped her slipping about or having to sit on the cold shower stall.

The bestway to inslate atravel cot or any sleeping room for babies / children isto carpet the floorwith a blanket: if theyare on raised beds / cot use clothes / towels / cases to give further insulation underneath.

vano baby sleeping bags are good (have one if you want one cheap- never usedas baby ended up co sleeping as he does at home)

Agreewith sling but takea buggy as well: we didnt and ended up buying ne cheap as ds4 got too heavy being always carried.

Layers for clothes, disposable sterilser, possibly a bumbo..... you should be well away

Beachcomber - the towel/shower idea is brilliant, I was wondering how I would wash her. Was thinking maybe a washing up bowl for a bath but might be easier to take her in with me.

Peachy - Might be interested in the sleeping bag, how much would you want for it? Though I will also ask around friends/family to see if they have one we could borrow.

We'll have a look at travel cots I think, even if not for her to sleep in I like the idea of it being a small playpen.

we found an all in one waterprrof very useful as ds2 was off crawling and as the grass was all dewy it helped keep him dry

agree about being cold as well I co slept to keep him warm

Wondering how to wash her? lol. Don't. Wet wipes will do for a few days, being a bit grubby won't matter for a few days. I have camped with a baby before, great fun, just relax!
