My sis has a campervan hire company and has had several vans converted by a company in Sheffield ( they were so good she now is an agent for them!) and she's in Inverness!!! (she's got bongo's iirc

Have family who've done it themselves but the dh was a VW buff with engineering skills iyswim.

No idea of cost but could find out...

I have an LDV mini bus which was part converted, but a bad layout. I have changed it all around and built a new cooker unit and a bench. I still need to build a unit over the other wheelhub to put the loo on and a bit to extend to support the end of the mattress.

Cost really depends on what you want to do with it and how plus or rustic you want it. Mine is rustic .

I have also put vinyl on the floor and made new seatcovers, new curtains, you know the important stuff . It already had an electric plug in unit, they can be got quite cheap. I want to put a leisure battery in that charges when the van is running, but that is a bit more technical. It did have a basin with a water container and pump tap, plus a drain pipe. This took up a lot of room and due to lack of head height the last thing you want to do is stand, well crouch in the van and wash dishes, so basin can be set up on a table in the awning, but most sites have dish washing facilities and a toilet block.

Just a word of warning. Check the insurance will not be invalidated by a personal conversion before you start. There may be vehicle and road safety issues and so on to think about.

Oh yes make sure it is insured properly and everything is secured properly.
