IF WE HAVE A TENT PITCH BUT WANT TO TAKE A TOILET/SHOWER IN A SMALL TENT NEXT TO US ON A SITE THAT HAS TOILETS & SHOWER BLOCK DO THE CAMPSITES MIND? DO THE WARDENS COME AND ASK WHAT YOU HAVE?

I want to have a big tent with a toilet tent next door to it

maybe put in a solar shower as well

Then put the windbreak around it so it isn't ugly for others

Do the owners or wardens come and ask what you have or do you have to ask beforehand

obviously it is needed to check that they have chemical toilet dump place?

Thanks

I would ask before hand.

If it the site has caravans as well then they will have a chemical dump.

I think the toilet is a good idea, if the shower block is far away.

I see tents with all sorts around them including 2.5m wide gazebos, depends on the size of pitch you pay for and if you have a designated plot in a row or if it is a free for all. I would def be upfront when booking and say exactly what you want to pitch, that way they can allocate you enough space, I am sure noboy wants to have to pitch their little 2 man tent next to your private toilet block .

BTW I wouldn't bother with a solar shower if they have a tolet block, plus wardens may not be keen in your bubbly water flowing into the ground not a drain.

Thanks guys

This year is the first time of us in Tent

We were in Motorhome in New Zealand so obviously that was different

So we ask them for the biggest pitch available then?

Our tent is 6½ x 3m iirc

If you are camping in this country then the solar shower wouldn't really get hot enough to be useful imo.

and I personally detest windbreaks, can you not put the toiet tent so it faces 'into' your pitch iykwim.

and yes get a big pitch we have to have one too

Yes deffo will have door for toilet door so you can step out of big tent straight into toilet tent ~ so if raining you don't get wet

We have a OUTWELL SUNVALLEY so it has 3 doors one at end and one on each side iyswim

Thanks for tip about shower being cold

You do need to ask

some sites have no add on tent licences

most will charge as a pup ttent (usually pence) but you do need to check I think

some- eg forest holidays- will be happy; I suspect others will not becuase of how they do their pitches but TBH those probably will ahve such nice toilet blocks that it won't matter.

I take a potty for emergencies for my tot. Otherwise we use onsite toilets. The fun of camping! Enjoy you trip, my kids love camping.

A solar shower would warm up enough. We have a couple on the back of our camper for hosing off sand at the beach. It got hot in a few hours even last summer when it rained and was overcast!

But I wouldn't use it on the campsite for the reasons skramble said.

We don't have a separate toilet tent but a portaloo in one of our pods inside the tent. It means we don't have to go outside in the dark or rain.

oh oke doke

Will deffo ask for big site and also for a toilet tent

we have 2 bedrooms and so not enough rooms for toilet inside

I want the toilet for me and DS incase we are a long way form toilet block

I guess you can't choose where on site you want to be can you?

Yes, you can. Some sites will take bookings onto specific pitches. Others are just turn up and find somewhere to put your tent.

Yep (was poster OS before)- when we went camping with my Mum and BIl we deliberately chose a pitch close to the toilet blovk; nowadays we ask for one close to disabled facillities and tehy generally help out if its a marked pitch site..... SandyBalls know us now so are felpful like that.
