Camping

who can use eurocamp funstations

Hi, I'm looking to book a camping holiday to France and was thinking Eurocamp looked reasonable - until I saw the Matthews site where they are offering 2 weeks for the price of one!
Does anyone know if anyone use the Eurocamp mini funstation or are they strict on only their clients using them?
Many thanks for any help

Nicki

Im not really sure what you mean by funstations.

I have been to a Eurocamp site in France if you want to know anything about it.

No, they're really strict. We went with Eurocamp last year, and my dd's made friends with a girl on another pitch. Her mum asked whether she could go, whether she could pay for her to go, but was told absolutely not.

Then again, this was in August, maybe the answer would be different if it was out of season and the couriers were skint

IME you have to be with the company to use their kids clubs. Some sites have their own clubs though, so it's worth looking either at the brochure, or find the campsite's own website to see if they have one.

We used one a couple of years ago when travelling with Thomson Al Fresco. It was great, lots of european kids and staff, and the bonus was that at the evening events (kids disco, facepainting etc) my DC knew the campsite staff and were more inclined to join in.

Last year we went with Canvas Life and pretty much had the kids club to ourselves in August! With the bigger companies you have to scramble for places sometimes.

Really it comes down to - are the club age groups appropriate, and how often are your DC likely to go?

Thanks everyone. I thought they would be strict. Think I'll go with Eurocamp as DD's will be aged 1 and 2 so needing activites to do.
Am going to book POinte ST Gilles in Brittany - has anyone been there?
Thanks again xx

I went about four years ago to Point St Gilles. The swimming pool is ok but there are nicer toddler pools elsewhere. The beach by the campsite is not that great but the main Benodet beach is excellent.

At the MiniFunstation you can't leave them alone. So basically it's a big tent with lots of toys & equipment for you to amuse yourselves with. The funstations were in a field off the campsite, a short walk down a quiet lane (no pavement), which I found a bit of a nuisance, as you couldn't easily pop back to the caravan.

the DCs sound a bit yuong to me, tbh, usually clubs are for 3+ at the youngest

i mean, unless specifically toddler clubs, which don't operate in school hols usually (which prob makes no difference to you, so I'll shut up now!)

You are right, though DF - the clubs where the DC can be left start at 4/5 depending on the operator. It's useful to have access to all the toys, paints etc in the toddler clubs. Best to check dates and ages. Keycamp sometimes have tumbletots too.

Eurocamp Funstations are only for Eurocampers - they check you van details when you register.

Quite often though the campsite will have it's own club!

We love Matthews BTW
