Hi there - can anyone suggest a good starter tent for four which is super easy for one adult to put up and take down? It will only be used for short trips so doesn't need to be too enormous or have loads of bedrooms or anything like that, but a porch type area would be useful. Oh, and reasonably cheap would also be good. Thanks so!

Not sure about price but I do know the Khyam tents are good for one adult to erect due to quick snap poles, might be worth checking ebay for a bargain?

Last weekend i met a woman with a huge Kyham Tent which she had chosen specifically so she could erect by herself. It was one of the Kyham Quick erect range.Pricey though

saw a khyam freelander it's only 3 berth tho, looks fine forme and dd, and as you say very quick to put up, but pricey.

How old is your dd Piratecat is she old enough to hold one side while you fix the other? perhaps?
I say this because dh put up our outwell montana with just our ds (then 8) holding on to one side so it didn't blow about.
How much have you got to spend Mrsmalumbas?
I've seen the Kyham wayfarer (4 berth)..which has the quick erect poles... for £269..and i bet you can even get it cheaper than that somewhere

my dd is 6 so could help if encouraged!!

I have also seen this Vango Tamor, whilst looking at the Vango Orchys.

It say sleeps five but that a bit of an over estimate methinks, looks like a roomier 4. Its £98, and you can stand up in it fine.

here

also I have seen a Khyam Freelander 3, its one thats the quick erect system. Its a 2007 one, and on ebay starteing bids at £50. It would be very easy to put up. is the quality better I wonder?

Hi all thanks for recommendations. Am also looking on e-bay because I'd like to pay with Paypal as I have some money in my account. Over 200 quid a bit on the pricey side for me as I'm a camping novice. I also wondered about the quick erect ones - are they really, I wonder? I also have a 6 year old who could help at a push but is a bit cack handed!
