Who was it that coined the phrase 'the rainy North' clearly hasn't been camping in Devon this week!

But I think we got away lightly compared to some - top tips I thought of lying in bed in the rain.....

Don't book a coastal site when they forecast gales - we were inland and we had a slight breeze at most!

Go to a site where the toilets / showers are fab not once all week did I go into the toilets and think ugh - spotless all week.

Get a Norfolk Lake - she was magnificent, didn't move once, completely waterproof, loads of room - I love her.

Beware rain and Devon = too many cream teas and pasties = salads for the next month!

Good time was had by all and I would still have rather been in a tent in the rain than in some souiless apartment in Spain!

Shame we didn't know where you lived - we could have just let ourself in and made a cuppa while you were away!

So your Khyam was indestructible? How did Sebastian's first camping trip go then?

and yes red Devonian mud! - and although I used to witter on about how great it was not having a sig, I wouldn't camp in this country again without one - It never crossed my mind once that our stuff in the tent was going to get wet, the zig was soo cool.

Just need to refill the gas bottle and buy a continental adapter and we'll be ready to take on the continent!

We had a lovely dry morning yesterday to take the tent down, typically the only one of the whole week so we just need to clean the cooker etc.

lol at stealing your Khyam - we already have 3 tents! and No-one could steal Lakey she's too bloody heavy!

Lizzylou - we were here in S Devon

Can recommend Kents Cavern in Torquay on a rainy Bank Holiday Monday!
