On front page of my new camping magazine:
FREE CUP OF COFFEE FOR EVERY READER

How nice I think, a voucher for Costa...

no ho ho, out of mag falls 2 sachets:
Kenco 2in1 (instant coffee + powdered smegma milk)
and
Kenco 3in1 (coffee + milk + sugar)

I was instantly , but as it is specifically for campers (picture of tent on promo pack) I thought I'd give it a go.

Do you know what, it tastes like utter shite. I took it outside and it still tasted like shite. I went in and put my cagoule and flip flops on, went outside in the rain and tried it again...

SHITE.

I am happy about this on so many levels

I was worried that if I went camping I would have to like instant coffee

I will have that foul smelling instant coffee taste in my mouth for the rest of the day now.

I was an idiot to think it would be even remotely pleasant.

Camping types have access to milk FFS

Absolutely.

My fold-n-store bean grinder and expresso maker only trips the EHU and plunges the entire campsite into darkness for a few minutes.

We may be sleeping on the floor with all our clothes on, but we have not lost our sense of taste.

I did like the line 'try this and then pass on your spare sachet to another camper' gawd they would have to be the campers from hell wouldn't they, to inflict that on them!

then again there were some at Trevornick last summer........

needless to say I ahven't tried mine yet slubber - may give it a go later, purely in the interests of science you understand!

slubber - did you look in the new Khyam brochure - they are doing carpets and 'eye-level' bedroom windows too now.

Khyam brochure is by the loo. I'm saving it for the dds bath time.

Oh everyone has gotten on the carpets band wagon...they're all trying to turn us into a bunch of softies. I'm seriously considering buying an ebay cabanon frame tent (in orange) and making the family camp au naturelle with no groundsheet. Breakfast with the worms, that'll toughen them up.

Talking of curious tent windows, I was in a bear lake 6 the other day (just accidentally wandered in ) and there was an extraorginary tiny little window, on the floor, next to the bedroom inner.
What is that for then??

my dd2 uses it as a sort of cat flap.

We send her out to give us a weather forecast. I presume that's what it's for?

we don't do carpets either, but then again our groundsheet is so thick that we don't need it.

Have you read the article by a 'camping mum'? I could do better! pah.

So is it for assessing the weather in the comfort of your own sleeping bag...or is it a cat flap? Or both? most intriguing.

I read campingmums article last month and was a bit.....meh.
i loved her suggestion that you really should fork out £70 for a specialist childs sleeping bag to keep the little dears warm.

eh?
blanket
thermals
hat

might be a bit cheaper.

weather observation mainly, but the Danish might well use it for their cats dunno - anyway Lucy the cat is not coming camping with us - cats and airbeds do not mix!

Maybe the danish are very fartogenic and need an air vent at buttocks level?
It's probably all that bacon (+ instant coffee).

Lucycat, have you read JT's Final Pitch, about his plastic box fetish.
