Just take some jars, it's fine for holiday!

yep mixture of jars and mashed banana/avocado/pear/ripe apricots/peach/ i think the 'jars are always evil' think is a bit dodge. mine had them the odd time for this sort of thing.

mince and totties? Thats what dd ate at 8 mnths while camping (She refused jars). I just mashed down the potato and added mostly sauce rather than mince.

They sell these fab pouches of pureed baby food I think they're called Ellas. Much nicer than jars and lighter to pack. Before I moved abroad I still gave them to my ds 3yrs and just added some stock and called it soup . The combos are a bit different but my boys love them.

I really don't want to use jars though. DS3 would only eat the bloody things and ds4's loving my home cooked stuff (well, for the week he's been having it).

I'm not anti-jars for day trips but not for the whole 2 week holiday.

I relly wanted to get him to wait until after he holiday so that I could avoid this too but he's been virtually chewing the chair legs off so I thought waiting another 6 weeks might be a bit cruel.

Can I just say before you dismiss the idea of pre made that ellas are 100% pureed fruit and vegtables? Anyway other ideas are scrambled eggs or omlette, beans, thats it me done! lots of ideas below that maybe better than mine

well its jars or bought stuff or make your own really isnt it! will you have an ehu thingy? if so i guess pureeing is not too bad. boiling always takes a long time i find on a camping stove. i think if you do a mix and include some of the 'purer' jar stuff he will adjust back once you home.

Ellas or PlumBaby (both at Waitrose) are pure fruit / veg and are yummy.

PlumBaby - thats the one I was thinking of! Its great for emergencies. And I think it all tastes quite nice myself, unlike lots of the jarred stuff.

Heinz do (or did 2 years ago!) tubs of pure fruit or veg

apple, cauli, carrot etc

from Boots and Sainsbury's or anywhere really

I used them on days out and home cooked stuff at other times
