Camping

I want to go camping, I don't want to take a stove. I NEED my morning coffee...

So....I want a nice cafe which serves actual coffee made using beans.

FRESH poncey food a bonus also.

(this is where forestry commission sites fall down)

Stuff like compost toilets and general countryside malarky etc is fine, actually its good. The fewer tin tents the better (oooh)

So, does such a campsite exist, preferably in south wales or nearby?

And if not...well...

Lots of nice cafes/bistros near the New Forest, Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst are very nice and wouldn't dream of serving instant !!

ah here's the thing

ok

am camping alone with 2 toddlers.

i wouldn't dream of driving or probably even getting dressed really without coffee. I do have a vile headache in the morning pre coffee, post coffee I am happy and chirpy and tra la laing.

So I need somewhere on site.

YOU DON'T WANT MUCH!

Look, camping and posh cafes don't really go hand in hand! Can't you buy a cafetiere and a boil a kettle, grind your own beans before you go? You won't be able to enjoy your coffee if the toddlers are running around the cafe anyway!

What you are hinting for really is a MNer that lives next to a campsite that will make you a brew isn't it, be honest!

why the stove aversion?

lol

I thought this posh camping lark was all the rage now, no?

See what I really want is for someone to bring me coffee in the morning.

It seems there is a gap in the market....

oh the stove

cos i am alone with 2 utterly hyper mad toddlers and last year a friend of mine's dd managed to burn her hand quite badly when we were all camping.

buy a compact in a case stove, Jamie oliver does one, we were bought one for xmas and it is far less hastle than the usual types, no need for matches just a small gas cannister which is inside it.

no you see said incident occured with the most compact stove imaginable. um...the blue square one...cool looking, about £20? The kid grabbed the things the saucepan was balanced on, as it was cooling. Involved a hospital trip, christ it was dire.

I am really nervous also cos I am utterly cack handed.

the espresso maker looks perfect ll...except...except...

Agree, cooking is dangerous with little ones and my rule is never ever ever leave the stove whilst cooking, not for a second. I was a Girl Guide you know!! I sit in front of the stove with my glass of wine and tell everyone to bugger off and come back when it's ready!! Bit tricky with toddlers though.

Or take this

Plug it into car lighter and it heats a cold drink...not hugely special but it works.....

It's not that scary...honest!
I make up some filter coffee at home and take it in a flask, then I can heat it with this...you do need somewhere to balance it in the car though...
That site looks good though, and it's only a few hours from me...tempting!
