where do you store your tent?

I've finally got a tent.
Now I.m worrying about where to put it. It's been lying in the living room since last sat as we don't know what to do. We have got a very large shed but won't it get damp? What do other campers use?

Sorry, I must have missed the thread about haiku...

Our tent goes in the cupboard under the stairs. We thought of one of those big plastic storage things for the garden but worried about damp. Don't know if that bothers other people.

in the shed - it could be damp but shed is quite robust.

Cellar. It's a bit damp though and the tent smells for a couple of days when we get it out but we don't have room anywhere else for it.

Have you got any space under your bed? That would be a great tent store It does need to be somewhere dry.

Our entire house is full of other cack so our tent (along with even more of our cack) lives at grandma's house.

We have one of those plastic garden wardrobes, PM, only a bit bigger than this (we have a v small back yard) so nothing major in it but it seems dry enough. One this size would probably do it, and they are definitely watertight.

Can you buy heavy duty plastic to put them in like carpet shops have? It really is big and we really use our cupbaord under the stairs

I ended up buying an Easycamp Cosenza 500 on e-bay.
I had to agree to get a tent that met my dp foibles - so it has a SIG and he has to be able to stand up in it (6ft1) The bedroom pods also have to be beside each other and be able to be made into one so we could ensure that dd was safe.
The Cosenza seemed to meet our requirements and was a good price. For those in the know- one of the websites I looked it up in said it was based on the Hartford M tent.

I thought about under our bed but the tent is bulky so wouldn't quite fit although I'm now wondering if we lifted the bed if it would then fit???

Could you take it out of its bag and spread it out flatter? That would keep it aired more too.

Or you could raise the legs - bed height raisers here (they're mobility aids, my neighbour had hip replacements recently and she had these to lift her chair when she was struggling to sit and stand. Not very elegant but they do the job!)

All of ours are in the shed and they are fine!

we have hooks around the shed for the chairs and other hangy stuff and lots of huge plastic boxes with everything else in, all labelled so I can grab stuff easily - we even have a box with stuff appropriate for a weekend trip!

Sleeping bags etc are in those vacuum bags under the bed as are the airbeds.

I do like to be organised

Thank you for starting this one Mercedes - I have been staring at firs tent that arrived last week wondering where on earth to put it. I think now I shall have a go at reorganising under the stairs.
