Hello!
I'm just browsing/dreaming about a camping trip next Summer and I came across a place called 'Camping Ferme de Prunay'. I've fallen a bit in love with it.
I was just wondering if any of you have stayed in a quiet, rural campsite in France that you could recommend?. The main thing I'm looking for is well spaced & private pitches..the more apart-the better!. We don't need any entertainment or pools.
We are open to any area from the north to the west coast to the middle of France. Could I be more vague?!
I'd love to add some more places to the wish list :)

I have stayed at prunay!

It was recommended on mumsnet. First time was brilliant. second time we were there at the end of June, they were doing the bar up and it wasn't so good felt a bit ramshackle.

The pool isn't heated and you will be bitten to buggery but on the whole it is a nice site

Oooh..thank you, OnlyHereForTheCamping!!
We would probably be going in August so fingers crossed we would get a little bit of sunshine. Could you pick where you wanted to pitch the tent?. I'm not a total hermit but I do like my space.

Pitches were generous. It was quiet when we there there so we just chose a pitch.

We're looking to go there in a couple of weeks!
OnlyHereForTheCamping - do you recall if it was easy to explore the area by bike? The site looks great, but would like to be use bikes rather than the car while we are there.

We did some cycling but it was hilly. You could cycle to saumur but it was a massive climb back up the hill. We tended to drive with the bikes to go for a cycle. Campin Les saules nearby was better for cycling straight from the campsite. It is a nice site but the pitches are a bit mean and it gets busy

We've just spent a week at Val De Cantobre which is near Milau and very rural ( an hour to to nearest supermarket rural). If you like peace and quiet and dark skies you'd love it there.

We've just arrived at a busier site of my husbands choosing further down south and I hate it already. So noisy :(
