My old Outwell tent has died a death and I need a replacement , will be used for a few weekends a year max . I really don't want to spend a fortune replacing it as it was a bargain in the first place ! I just want something with enough space for a couple of double airbeds in the sleeping quarters and a decent sized living area , with a side entrance . Want to be able to buy a footprint /carpet for it too . Which other brands of tents are good , comparable with Outwell ?

I hope that link worked?

Not sure if it's comparable with an Outwell but a heck of a lot cheaper. We just got this - it is the only 6 man tent we could find with two big bedrooms - lots of room for double airbeds - where the bedrooms are at each end of the tent (which I wanted for a tiny bit more privacy when camping with friends. Find it weird sleeping two inches away from your friend's husband).

Very good reviews on website, and on ukcamping website. We found it a doddle to put up and the bag is very generous so you don't have to do origami to get it packed away again. Haven't actually tested it yet though.

Oh and you can buy a footprint and carpet (and a porch, if you wanted).

I've camped in the Zenobia. It is very spacious but to me living area felt quite dark / dingy.

Quality is nothing like Outwell but OK for weekend camping if you'd not go if weather looking bad.

Vango are good, although moving towards air tents. We wanted a Vango Orava 600xl last year but was sold out everywhere. That's a poled version, friends have the air equivalent (tigra?) which looked great but is more £££.

I love my Outwell tbh, have you looked at eBay, gumtree etc for any bargains? Or JR Leisure or All weathers sometimes have new but previous years models at a discount.

Happy camping!

We've got a Vango Isis 600 (now rebranded as an Iris ......wonder why? Wink) which fits the brief.

I'm by no means a tent expert but have found this one excellent!

We also had a lovely Outwell, died after years of intensive camping! We went for the Vango orava xl but we do go quite a bit. I saw the Kampa Hayling 600 about £350 which was in the running for us, but we got a good deal in the Vango.

My brother has a vango orva which is amazing with a fab porch.

Ive had an outwell tent before and this is definetely comparable quality. Stood up to horrendous sustained winds when other tents were collapsing.

We've got a Kampa Oxwich 6 which is lovely. Optional porch for longer stays but even without it's adequate for 5 of us - one double airbed and 3 single SIMs. It's withstood some fairly heavy weather and takes and 20 mins to put up.

We're also looking for a new tent and want one with bedrooms at either end and living space in the middle to have a bit if space from DD. Was looking at the Eurohike Buckingham Elite in Millets as thats the shape we want, perhaps the 8 man so we've got lots of space when it inevitability rains! Anyone got one? Also been thinking sewn in groundsheet would be better. There's 15% off camping in Millets this weekend online.
