Camping

Starting to pack!

We go for our first big camp at the weekend (previous test weekend very locally and drunken event camping pre-DC).

We've started collecting all our stuff from the attic, garage and other places - the camping cutlery was on the pan trolley in the kitchen Confused

I'm getting excited in a way I've never been excited for a cottage/hotel/stay with family holiday. So hope it lives up to our expectations.

See some of you in Cornwall next week maybe! I'll be the harassed-looking one counting sons (one two ... three) and re attaching bunting and fairy lights to the tent (per MN recommendation).

Yay! I love camping prep, I find it so much fun. We go in the morning and I'm currently at the oh crap, what about the....stage of planning where I have to keep getting out of bed to get Stuff or I'll forget it in the morning.

Have a great time, it's our first trip back to camping after the horrific washout that was June 2012 so I'm slightly apprehensive but very excited!

It's going to be fabulous.

Just went to the supermarket and the dude at the till goes to Cornwall every year, mostly the western end. He was v enthusiastic too!

It will be fab Mrs, the sun will shine, you will not be damp, etc., etc.. Grin.

We are going on Saturday for two weeks, fairly remote locations (Scotland and Isles) too so I will be taking most of the things I need that don't need refrigeration.

I always leave it until the last minute though, always, always. Thinking of doing an online 'camping only' shop right now.

We have decided to take our trailer which we weren't going to do so it will be crammed full of wine, logs, food and chocolate!

We are here. The sun is very much shining, it's breezy and we've just been swimming. DS2 has just had his first Cornish pasty Grin

Well, I haven't even started packing, or ironing, or shopping yet .... we are now leaving very early tomorrow Shock, lots of work to do this morning, then I need to make sure that my horses are set up for the person looking after them.

Next I hope to get four loads of washing, most of which is going with us, dry.

DH wants me to make an Octagonal inner floor for our tent. We use thick indian throws on the floor in there, he reckons that they would be better sewn together, in the shape of the tent, with webbing and toggles to fasten to the tent where the groundsheet toggles in Hmm, seriously!

Food shop, maybe ironing, maybe not!

Busy day.

We camped at the weekend nr Lands End, v high winds and rainstorms. Hope anyone camping here last weekend fared better than us.

We need to buy a new tent or borrow one before next weekend as we are off to France. Good job I am so excited about Les Valades (lovely wine, cheese, maybe a spot of canooing) or I'd be rather hacked off!
