Can anyone recommend a well priced tent suitable for 2 adults and 2 small kids?

It needs to be v easy to put up. We will only be using it for 1-2 night stays in good weather!

Thanks!

Most tents are fairly easy to put up nowadays (especially if there are 2 adults who are semi-practical) but suggest you wear gardening gloves to save your hands. I like a tent where I can stand up, this may also be a consideration for you. Enter pitchup.com into your browser they may have some practical ideas. Tunnel tents feel easy to put up but quite frankly when you camp a lot it gets easier. A traditional frame tent is unlikely to be a good option for you - just brought back memories of me and a mate trying to put one up at a festival!!

BTW a 4 man is unlikely to be big enough, even for 2 small kids, I'd be tempted to look at a 5 or even 6 man tent.

I LOVE the look of the bell tents I have googled but they all seem quite expensive? I'm not looking to spend much cos we'll only be using the tent a few weekends a year.

I recently purchased an urban escape atago 5 from halfords and I love it!

Dh and I can put it up in half an hour and I can take it down myself.

Loads of space and really reasonably priced.

There is a massive range in go outdoors, I would look for a complete sewn in groundsheet though, it will make a difference if there is a big shower, and it keeps the bugs out.
We got a tunnel tent for about £100, it's fine for weekends, but wouldn't want to do a week in it. We prefer to sleeping pod and front sitting area, so we can sit and chat if it's cold outside, and the children are zipped in. You can stand in it. Don't underestimate how annoying scrabbling round on hands and knees gets, particularly if you are doing night time toilet runs.

Third decathlon tents for weekends. I got a 2second iiii illumin xxl (or something like that) that I can put up and take take down by myself. It's big enough for a weekend for 4.

Quechua pop up tents. You can buy various sizes and add on extra bits as needed

Quechua pop ups are fab but Decathlon appear to have done away with all the ones you can stand up in which is a shame. The family seconds 4.2xl might have suited you perfectly and you may be able to pick one up on ebay.

Otherwise, their inflatable range might be worth looking at perhaps?

Thanks everyone, great advice. Had a look at tents in go today, realised a 4 man job will be too small and also need to be able to stand up!

Will check out decathlon, many thanksSmile

What about this? I have always thought they looked like great tents.

They're great tents. Get a tent with a porch though, or you'll get everything wet when it rains
