Camping gaz in France

Quick question for all you seasoned campers. We are camping in the Dordogne this year for the first time in our own tent. Not sure if we should or can take our gas bottles with us or buy them there. We have a safari chef and a camping gaz cooker so need 2. Also do we need a different regulator if we buy French bottles? Really not keen to take our own due to space but also don't want a big faff setting up the kitchen!

We had to replace our gas bottle last year in France. It was roughly half the price that it would have cost in Britain, and there was many supermarkets we saw that had a variety of bottles (in the Dordogne). It was that much cheaper that I'd consider taking them to exchange.

Gas is much cheaper and easy to find, we've replaced/swapped ours in the Dordogne and other areas... Oh and the bottle is exactly the same, no need to change to a different regulator
